X days Habitat Project Brings Volunteers Together

The 5th Annual X days brought the Faith Alliance Church Partners together in April to show the love of God and be the “eXternal” church by serving their neighbors. Faith Alliance partnered for the first time with Habitat of Humanity of Greater Cincinnati for their main group X days project. Volunteers served at 6 projects with 129 volunteers from 9 churches including the Habitat homebuild in Hamilton, Habitat ReStore, Support to Encourage Low-Income Families, shut-in residences, and 5 West Chester Fire Stations. Over the past 5 years, thousands of X days volunteers have served at more than 355 local projects.

Dorothea Beasley, the Habitat homeowner, was truly thankful for everyone who came out to help build her new home. Dorothea worked along-side volunteers each week on her new home and commented:

“Owning our own home will add peace and a sense of belonging to the community. It will provide stability in an ever changing world.”

Even though the official X days projects are done, there is still some work left to do before Dorothea can move into her home. If you would like to volunteer to help finish up(must be 16 yrs +), you may go directly to the Habitat website to sign up. Here is the link:  Habitat link

As well, the Habitat ReStore in Hamilton needs volunteers to help reset there store. You must be 14 years or older to volunteer there. To sign up go to: ReSTore link
