On Friday, November 17th, Kim McKinney was honored by the West Chester Liberty Chamber Alliance at the 16th Annual Women of Excellence Awards Dinner and Gala. Kim was nominated and chosen as one of ten “Women of Excellence” who through their careers or volunteerism, have enhanced business, education, culture, philanthropy, and provided outstanding service to our region.
Kim has been an active volunteer for The Faith Alliance of West Chester and Liberty Township for the past several years. She has a heart of gold and cares deeply for the welfare of her neighbors. Kim was also honored as the Faith Alliance’s first Volunteer Angel of the Year in 2015.
A few years ago, when the Faith Alliance Summer Lunch sites were expanding, Kim offered to be the Co-Site Coordinator at the Meadowridge Apartment site, one of the largest. She has done an outstanding job of not only ministering to the needs of well over 125 children every day of the week all summer long, but also does a great job engaging and organizing both church volunteers as well as community and school volunteers. Kim’s compassion for children and making sure they are well fed and mentored is exceptional.
Kim also began helping the Caring Community Collaborative (C3) get organized and continues to do so. She is usually one of the first smiling faces you see at registration for many C3 events including the Empty Bowls event which helps support our Summer Lunch Ministry. Kim is always willing to go the extra mile to offer a helping hand to those in need. Congratulations and thank you for all you do Kim!
